Fencing Course for Adult Beginners
|
Wimbledon Fencing Club offers a fencing course for the follow types of
beginner :
- adults who have never tried fencing before and want to take
it up
- adults who may have done a little fencing before and want to
start again

This 9-week course is structured around the syllabus for the Grade
1 Achievement Award at Foil as defined by the British
Fencing Association.

Times
|
Wednesday evenings from 7.45 pm to 9.15 pm (report at 7.30 pm)

Cost
|
£90.00 for adults, £60.00 for full-time students.
This fee covers:
- the course (see dates above)
- use of equipment (see below)
- continued membership of the club until end of the current term
- membership of the British Fencing Association (for personal insurance
cover)
Cheques must be payable to "Wimbledon Fencing Club".

Equipment
|
Foils, jackets, plastrons, gloves and masks will be provided; participants
should wear stretchy trousers (e.g. track suit), a short-sleeve T-shirt,
and trainers. It is also advisable for participants to bring their own
bottled drinking water.
|
Coaching will continue until the end of term, at no extra cost, to encourage
participation in club activities and competitions.
